Isabelle Decitre

Founder & CEO 
ID Capital

Isabelle set up ID Capital in 2012 when moving to Singapore after a 20-year corporate career in the luxury industry, her last position being SVP Marketing & Communications for the Cognac brand Hennessy. After looking at several emerging sectors to invest in she realized the FoodTech & AgriTech sectors were bound for dramatic change. Future Food Asia was born mid 2016 out of the belief that challenges facing agriculture are often region-specific, and thus, the best minds to tackle these problems can be found within local teams. It aims at fostering innovation in food sustainability and multiplying investment opportunities across Asia Pacific. Today Future Food Asia is in its third year and ID Capital is has been appointed as a co-investment partner in agrifoodtech startups by SEEDS Capital, the investment arm of Enterprise Singapore. Along with her team, Isabelle scouts and reviews a few hundred agrifoodtech startups every year.

Dr. Ralph Graichen

Senior Director, Food & Consumer A*STAR

Dr Ralph Graichen is currently Senior Director, Food & Consumer at the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), Singapore. In this function, Ralph is leading his team to develop A*STAR’s strategy in food & nutrition, consumer care as well as human potential. He is responsible for driving activities across the public and private sector in Singapore, supporting economic activities, research funding and strategic national and international relations. He has a co-appointment as Adjunct Associate Professor with Nanyang Technological University, School of Chemical & Biomedical Engineering. In his current position with A*STAR, Ralph is working with strategic partners to administer and develop new initiatives and programmes in the research areas of food, nutrition and consumer care. Ralph is a board member of the Singapore Food Agency as well as a member of the Singapore Food Standard Committee.
Ralph has over 16 years of experience in the local and global biomedical and nutrition industry. He was previously Research Operations Manager for Abbott Nutrition in Asia, establishing the R&D infrastructure and managing the research portfolio for Asia.
Ralph graduated with a master in Biology from the Johannes Gutenberg University, Mainz, Germany and attained his PhD from the National University Singapore through the Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology. Ralph attended the Food System Leadership Institute, a program of the Association of Public and Land-Grant Universities (APLU) with support from the W.K. Kellogg Foundation.

Xiuling Guo

Managing Director, Global Edible Oil Solutions, Asia – Cargill Asia Pacific

Xiuling has took on the role to lead the Global Edible Oil Solutions business for Malaysia and Australia in 2018.
Prior to this role, she was the strategy development and business performance improvement for Cargill Food Ingredients and Bio Industrial APAC business since June 2016. Before that, Xiuling was part of FIBI global completive excellence program to modernize the business by deploying PMO,IBP, Stable operation and Strategic pricing for two years. Xiuling joined Cargill back in 2011 to set up strategic sourcing and purchasing function for Cargill , part of first global function transformation.
Before Joining Cargill, XiuLing was with Yum! China for 11 years in Supply Chain management team and 4 years with Metro GMBH China in merchandising team .
By education , XiuLing holds mechanical engineering degree and MBA from Tong Ji University Shanghai, China.

Francesca Kleemans

Managing Director, Cargill Cocoa & Chocolate – Cargill Asia Pacific

Francesca Kleemans is the Managing Director for Cargill Cocoa & Chocolate Asia Pacific and has worked in cocoa and chocolate for the past 19 years. In her previous role with Cargill, Francesca was the Global Director for the cocoa product lines and was responsible for driving global growth through optimizing capabilities and generating synergies for customers. Francesca is known for her play-to-win mindset and her passion to create differentiated value that helps customers thrive. Building on a foundation of uncompromising product quality, she believes that the future of cocoa and chocolate in Asia is about sensory innovation to excite consumers and robust sustainability to enable farmers for generations to come.
Originally from Italy, Francesca has just relocated to Singapore with her husband and three children. Together, they are enjoying Singapore’s melting pot of people and food flavours. 

Kelvin Chiu

Founder and CIO – Silverstrand Capital

Kelvin Chiu is the Founder and Chief Investment Officer of Silverstrand Capital, a single-family office based in Singapore which invests in regenerative agriculture and other nature-based solutions. Since Silverstrand was established in 2019, Kelvin has been responsible for its strategic oversight and evaluation of projects. Silverstrand’s investment strategy emphasises impact and systems change, as the organisation seeks to catalyse the wide scale adoption of regenerative practices in order to restore ecological health and biodiversity to our planet’s landscapes.
Kelvin’s professional background is in agricultural commodities trading, having worked in Europe and Asia with Goldman Sachs (London) and Vitol Asia (Singapore). He holds a M.A. in Economics from the University of Cambridge (2008). 

Yuni Choi

Director of Investments –  RS Group

Yuni focuses on the RS Group’s investment portfolio, which is comprised of responsible and impact investments across asset classes. In addition to her investment duty, she is also a key contributor to RS Group’s Natural Capital initiative where the group’s catalytic capital is used to seed and scale nature-based solutions in Asia. Before joining RS Group, Yuni was Vice President at TAU Investment, an impact-driven private equity firm investing in the apparel supply chain. Prior to TAU, she worked as a Senior Investment Analyst at Mirae Asset Global Investments, focusing on fundamental analysis and investment in Asian public equities. She is also an angel investor and has advised a dozen social entrepreneurs over five years. A native of South Korea, Yuni earned her MBA from Columbia Business School and also holds a BA in Business Administration from Yonsei University. She received her CFA charter in 2011.

Nick Hazell

CEO and Founder – v2food

Nick Hazell is an experienced food innovator, lecturer and consultant who is CEO & Founder of Australian startup v2food. Launched nationally in October 2019, v2food has developed plant-based meat, building on a close collaboration with CSIRO to create tasty, sustainable and healthy products.
Hazell holds a Master of Manufacturing from Cambridge University. He worked in aerospace and chocolate manufacturing before moving into research and development in the food industry, working at global multinationals in The Netherlands and Australia. He was R&D Director at Masterfoods and at PepsiCo Australia and New Zealand, working on products like Grain Waves, Red Rock Deli, Sunbites and Smiths. He lectures in the Bachelor of Creative Intelligence and Innovation at UTS and has consulted to CSIRO and the meat industry.

Jeyakumar Henry

Senior Advisor – Singapore Institute of Food and Biotechnology Innovation, A*STAR

Prof Jeyakumar Henry is Senior Advisor, Singapore Institute of Food and Biotechnology Innovation, A*STAR. He was the founding Director of the Clinical Nutrition Research Centre, A*STAR and Functional Food Centre Oxford. Initially trained as a food technologist, he subsequently obtained his M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Nutrition from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), UK. He has published over 380 papers and presented over 390 lectures around the world. A recipient of the NutraIngredients–Asia NutraChampion Awards 2019, Institute of Food Technologists, USA – W K Kellogg International Food Security Award & Lectureship 2019, named the 100 Most Influential Asian Scientists – 2019 Edition, Asian Scientist and the Niigata International Grand Prix food award Japan in 2018. He continues to act as a Consultant to UN agencies, multinationals and governments. He has recently been the scientific commentator on the highly successful TV program “Food Detective”, where food and nutrition science was presented in a user friendly manner.

Kate Jarvis

Agribusiness Finance Specialist – ADB

Kate is an agribusiness professional with a passion for improving the sustainability of food production, distribution, and consumption. Kate joined Asian Development Bank as Agribusiness Finance Specialist in February, where her focus is investment opportunities that improve climate resilience and gender equity within the agribusiness value chain. Prior to ADB, Kate worked with a UK-based startup that is developing technology to produce an animal feed ingredient using minimal water. She has a deep understanding of global agricultural markets and agribusiness investment, thanks to roles in commodities trading at Louis Dreyfus Company and Fonterra, and agribusiness private equity at Proterra Investment Partners. Kate has an MBA from University of Oxford.

Bianca Le

Executive Director Cellular – Agriculture Australia

Kate is an agribusiness professional with a passion for improving the sustainability of food production, distribution, and consumption. Johannes le Coutre

Professor – University of New South Wales, Sydney

Johannes le Coutre is Professor Food & Health at UNSW, Sydney. During his Ph.D. in Biophysics at the Max-Planck-Institute, he characterized the mechanism underlying light driven bacterial proton transport.
Subsequently he built a research program on taste physiology at Nestlé Research in Switzerland. Le Coutre initiated global research programs integrating private and public sectors and led those programs all the way to implementation in the markets. He has been recognized with several R&D awards.
He established a portfolio of scientific projects at lmperial College London, where he holds a visiting Professorship, featuring work on microbiota, spices and on food perception.
Since 2019 he holds a full Professorship at UNSW where he is developing a broad research agenda on cellular agriculture.

Doris Lee

General Manager – GFI Consultancy

GFI Consultancy (GFIC) focuses on accelerating the alternative protein industry development in China. As an independent partner of The Good Food Institute, GFIC provides global and local resources to bridge key knowledge gaps and tackle industry challenges. It also helps to build the innovation ecosystem by collaborating with academic institutions and scientists, corporations, startups, and investors.
Doris has about a decade of experience building and managing localized programs for international organizations, including EU-funded initiatives. She has organized over 50 activities promoting knowledge exchange between government representatives, universities and schools and the industry on sustainability-related topics covering urban greening, smart city and social inclusion. Her engagement in sustainable food and plant-based food space in Hong Kong, Berlin, and Beijing provided her with rich knowledge of the ecosystem.

David Lee

President – AppHarvest

As the President and a Board member of leading AgTech company, AppHarvest, David Lee works to develop strategy and optimize operations leading the sales, marcomms, sustainability and finance functions as the company continues to grow as a sustainable foods company. David is passionate about transforming companies by creating consumer movements around healthier food that is better for the planet and supported by technology. Previously, David was the COO and CFO of Impossible Foods, the CFO of Zynga, and the SVP of corporate finance and strategy at Best Buy during its turnaround. Prior to that, he ran the global food business at Del Monte following roles in strategic consulting at McKinsey and advertising at Leo Burnett.

Ying LI

China Agriculture Director – The Nature Conservancy in China

Ying Li is the Agriculture Director of TNC in China. She got MSc and PhD degrees in Plant Pathology and Plant Science in Wageningen University, the Netherlands. She is the member of the working group of the “4per1000” Initiative, and co-research advisor of the NatureNet Science Scholarship. Her current work focuses on researching and promoting sustainable agricultural development in response to climate change, building a multi-stakeholder cooperation platform, improving soil health and biodiversity by scaling regenerative agriculture and farmland carbon sequestration to increase the farmer resilience and strengthen food and nutrition security. The work in TNC accelerates these efforts to further build a resilient and regenerative agricultural system, protect water resource, and increase farmers’ income. Ying has research experience in both academia and private sector. Ying Li has conducted scientific research at Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences and multinational food enterprises. She has rich scientific knowledge and application promotion experience in biotechnology, plant pathology, food safety management and sustainable supply chain. She has leaded or participated in the research projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the National Special Program of the Ministry of Agriculture, and the International Cooperation Program of the Ministry of Science and Technology. She has led and participated in a number of R&D projects in the private sector. She has published more than 30 academic papers and R&D patent.

Alexandra Londoño

Head of Business Segment Pulses – Bühler

Alexandra Londoño is the global Head of Bühler’s pulses and local grains business segment.
With 10 years of experience in global market development in B2B and B2C,
she is currently leading the development of innovative technology applications to extract the full protein potential of pulses as an ingredient,
add value to food products and thereby contribute to sustainability and food security.
Alexandra has a degree in Industrial Engineering and an MBA in International Management from ESB Business School.

Frank Mitloehner

Director, Professor and Air Quality Specialist – CLEAR Center at UC Davis

Alexandra Londoño is the global Head of Bühler’s pulses and local grains business segment.
With 10 years of experience in global market development in B2B and B2C,
she is currently leading the development of innovative technology applications to extract the full protein potential of pulses as an ingredient,
add value to food products and thereby contribute to sustainability and food security.
Alexandra has a degree in Industrial Engineering and an MBA in International Management from ESB Business School.

Phil Morle

Partner – Main Sequence Ventures

Phil is a Partner at the CSIRO’s venture capital fund – Main Sequence Ventures. Here he invests in deep tech founders who are building unimaginable new companies with a strong connection to research. There he has invested in v2food, Nourish Ingredients, Clara Foods, RapidAIM, Coviu, Maxwell Plus and Q-CTRL. Before this he was the founder of Australia’s first Silicon Valley style incubator, Pollenizer, where Phil played an instrumental role in developing the startup ecosystem across Asia Pacific and advised some of the world’s biggest organisations on practical ways to deliver new growth and the cultural change that is required to get there. Phil is a director of Food Agility CRC.

Mohamed Nasser Ismail

Global Head of Equity Capital Markets – SGX

Nasser is Global Head of Equity Capital Markets at SGX. In his current role, he is responsible for marketing and attracting companies to list on either the SGX Mainboard or Catalist listing platforms. His responsibilities include the development of various equity capital market initiatives to provide greater fund raising services as well as further deepening the capital markets ecosystem in Singapore. He is also spearheading various policy and platform initiatives related to the capital markets.
Prior to assuming his present responsibilities in 2014, Nasser helmed the Issuer Regulation Unit where he oversaw the review of listing applications as well as monitored the ongoing compliance of listed companies with the Listing Rules. He had also led various units in the course of his career in SGX, including Enforcement, Regulatory Development & Policy as well as Legal & Compliance. Before joining SGX in 2005, Nasser served as a Deputy Public Prosecutor with the Attorney-General’s Chambers.
He is presently serving as a Board member of Enterprise Singapore and also an Appeals Board member of the Islamic Religious Council.

Vi Nguyen

Director of Research and Lead in Sustainable Protein – Asia Research and Engagement

Vi Nguyen is a Director of Research at Asia Research and Engagement (ARE) and leads their sustainable protein work across Asia. She has nearly two decades of banking and finance experience, gained from working for major banks and financial institutions in Asia and Australia.
Prior to transitioning into ESG and sustainable finance, she previously worked at Standard Chartered Bank as an investment strategist. She is an equity specialist, having held positions in research and strategy globally, with direct investment experience across Asia and Australia.

Sarah Nolet

General Partner – Tenacious Ventures

Sarah Nolet is an internationally recognized agriculture innovation expert, the CEO and Founder of AgThentic, a global food and agriculture strategy firm, and co-founder of Tenacious Ventures, Australia’s only specialist agrifood tech VC firm.
Sarah has been instrumental in building the early stage agtech ecosystem in Australia – from advising dozens of startups, designing accelerator programs and consulting to established agribusinesses, to helping industry, universities and government develop and implement forward-looking initiatives in food system innovation.
Sarah is also the host of the AgTech…So What? podcast, featuring bi-weekly stories on nontraditional innovators in agriculture.
She has been ministerially appointed to the board of Industry, Innovation and Science Australia (IISA), and she holds a Masters in System Design and Management from MIT, and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Human Factors Engineering from Tufts University.

Dan Pathomvanich

CEO – NRF Public Company Limited

Dan is climate change activist, plant-based advocate and committed to enabling the world to transition to a lower carbon future through food system transformation. He started this journey when he established Hatton Capital limited a family office base out of Hong Kong back in 2009. Since then he has completed more than one billion dollars in acquisitions primarily focused in the food industry and co-founded Hatton equity partners (Thailand) limited in 2015 a fund manager with over $40million in assets under management.
Dan’s life changed when Hatton acquired Nr Instant produce public company limited or NRF in April of 2017 a leading specialty food exporter based in Thailand. NRF was established in 1991 and over two decades developed into a leading food co-packer for supermarkets around the world with beloved brands such as Por Kwan that dominate ethnic supermarkets in North America. When Dan become the new CEO of NRF he quickly saw that sustainable consumption would be central to any growth strategy due to the challenges humanity is facing in 2050 and embarked upon a mission to use NRF as a vehicle to transform the food system for a more inclusive and sustainable world.
2017 was a seminal moment as Dan laid out a roadmap for the company over the next year three years to become a global platform for the future of food in seeking to find solutions on how to feed ten billion people by 2050. Central to this mission was to transform NRF’s small plant based business into a global co-manufacturer for alternative protein ingredients and foods which would enable the global economy to a lower carbon system. The goal is by 2024 to have key production facilities around the world to co-manufacture plant based foods, alternative protein ingredients and retail outlets selling plant based products.
To shift the company Dan quickly committed to the 1.5 degree pledge (Paris accord) and committed to the United nations global compact by integrating the UN sustainable development goals into NRF core operations. As a pro-active partner of the Global compact network Thailand (GCNT) he was named to the committee on environment. NRF today is the first and only carbon neutral certified food factory in Thailand. In three years Dan led NRF to an initial public offering in October 2020 and had the 2nd best IPO opening of the year and was more than 9x oversubscribed by institutions. As of March 2021 NRF has a market capitalization of $500million. 

Mark Rottmann

CEO – iCell Sustainable

Mr. Rottmann is an officer/executive level leader with extensive commercial and operational responsibility in both large corporations and small entrepreneurial entities.
30+ years in commercial management and industrial manufacturing managing high margin, value added product offerings in the global water purification marketplace.
15+ years of international business experience, focused on fish/seafood industry protein recovery and value added ingredients.
He is currently the CEO of iCell Sustainable Nutrition, which is expanding out of Asia and into North America and Europe through Licensing of its technology into aquaculture and other water recycle markets. iCell has Partnered with Peritus Capital to create iCell Aqua in North America to fund and build out aquaculture systems.
Concurrently he serves on the Board of iCell Aqua, Gentech America and Provital Pet Products which provides visibility into the many ways that proteins are needed in commercial applications in the feed/food ingredient market. 

Henry Soesanto

Executive Vice-President and CEO – Monde Nissin Corporation

Mr. Soesanto serves as the Executive Vice-President, CEO, and Director of Monde Nissin Corporation, a global food and beverages company headquartered in the Philippines. The company holds a portfolio of iconic and market-leading brands across fast-growing categories, including instant noodles, biscuits, baked goods, culinary aids, and alternative meat products where it sells its products globally under Quorn Foods. He also serves on the board of directors of various other corporations including Monde Nissin group companies. Mr. Soesanto graduated from the Institute of Technology, Surabaya, Indonesia with a Bachelor of Science, Major in Chemical Engineering and finished eCornell University, USA’s Plant Based Nutrition Certificate Program.

Anand Sundaresan

Regional Vice President, APAC – DSM Nutritional Products

Anand Sundaresan was appointed Regional Vice President Human Nutritional Health (HNH) for DSM in Asia-Pacific in February 2019, based out of Singapore. In this role, he is responsible for shaping and implementing the HNH business and strategy in the region, driving its growth by fostering innovation and expanding the product portfolio.
In addition, he is also responsible for the continued growth of the business P&L. Anand will also provide leadership in empowering employees to chart their professional aspirations and bolstering talent for DSM in APAC.
Anand is an experienced global business leader with an established track record in creating and driving the vision to deliver revenue, profit and impact market share performance in different environments.
Prior to joining DSM, Anand was the Global Business Director for Polyols, with the Dow Chemical Company in Michigan, USA. During his time with Dow, he assumed senior commercial and marketing leadership roles with increasing responsibilities for North America and Asia-Pacific, and was also the Business Director/ Commercial Vice President Asia-Pacific PU Group for 5 years. Anand’s first job with Dow Chemical was Senior Marketing Manager in 2008. Before Dow Chemical, he was attached to Merrick Systems, an energy software company.
At DSM, Anand believes: “We tackle some of the biggest challenges faced in Asia-Pacific, including nutrition deficiency and malnutrition, non-communicable diseases such as diabetes, and advocate for healthy aging. With DSM’s extensive footprint in Asia, our team is well-placed to serve some of the most vulnerable communities in the region as we provide tailored solutions according to the various market’s needs.”
Anand holds an MBA from University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a M.S. in Environmental Engineering from Texas A & M University. He is married and resides in Singapore; he enjoys travelling, playing golf and trying new cuisines in his spare time.

Erin Sweeney

Lead, Sustainable Investment & Inclusion – Grow Asia

Erin is Lead, Sustainable Investment & Inclusion at Grow Asia, a multi-stakeholder partnership platform that catalyzes action on inclusive agricultural development in South East Asia. Erin leads the implementation of the action plan for the ASEAN Guidelines on Responsible Agricultural Investments (RAI), as well as Grow Asia’s gender mainstreaming initiatives across their network of 520+ partners. Erin is trained as an urban planner specializing in food systems policy, and has worked and lived in the United States, South America, South Asia and the Caribbean. In 2018, Erin was a Fulbright Scholar based in Singapore where she conducted research on urban food systems and consumer demand for locally-grown food. Erin is also a registered speaker on the Keynote Women’s Speakers Directory, and speaks on topics related to diversity and inclusion and LGBTQ rights, sustainable agriculture, and food systems.

 

 

 

 

 

Alpana Titus

Vice President Foods, Thailand and SEAT – Unilever Thailand

Alpana Titus is the Vice President Foods, Thailand and SEAT* at Unilever. She has over 25 years of cross category marketing experience in both Unilever and Pepsico, having worked in India, Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand mainly in the Foods and Refreshment sector.
She is an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (the premier management institute in India) and also has a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Delhi University. Alpana is married, with two children and enjoys photography and gardening in her free time. She has a passion for sustainability and the environment, living her purpose by landing the Future Foods vision for Unilever in her markets to help people to eat healthier and to help reduce the environmental impact of the global Foods chain.

Meera Vasudevan

Co-founder – C-SAW

Meera Vasudevan is a co-founder of C-SAW (Center for the Spread of Affordable Wellness), a Singapore-based company with a vision to promote Wellness through Food, with its Applied Food Research Center, AQBATOR© and Advisory services.
Meera also co-founded Preferred Brands International, a US-based food company that manufactures and markets a line of natural and organic international meals under the brand name ‘Tasty Bite’.
She began her career in market research at MARG (Marketing & Research Group), India, now part of the Nielsen group.
She then went on to co-found Quantum Consumer Solution a global, specialist research firm.
Meera also runs a personal foundation with her husband, Ashok – MAVF (www.mavfoundation.org), dedicated to ending hunger and malnutrition in America, in a manner that is self-reliant, healthy & sustainable.
She has a Bachelors in English with Post Graduate qualifications in Marketing from the University of Madras and INSEAD, France.

Ritu Verma

Co-Founder, Managing Partner – Ankur Capital

Ritu Verma is the co-founder and Managing Partner at Ankur Capital – an early stage venture capital firm that invests in innovations for the next billion markets. She sits on the board/board observer positions at multiple of Ankur’s portfolio – Cropin, Agricx, Niramai, StringBio, Vegrow, Krishify and BigHaat. She is passionate about disruptive technologies across multi sectors.
Prior to starting Ankur Capital, Ritu ran Truven an advisory firm for venture funds looking at investments in India and SE Asia. One of the funds she worked with was BASF corporate venture fund, which focused on investments in renewable energy, agri-biotech and materials. She is passionate about bringing innovation from lab to the market and did that for over a decade across different roles at Philips and Unilever across the globe.
She holds an MBA from INSEAD and a Ph.D. in physics from the University of Pennsylvania and has bachelors from Middlebury College, Vermont.
Ritu is also part of the steering committee and director at ThinkAg an agri-sector platform for scaling innovations in India. She is a member of the Global Development Committee for American Society of Mechanical Engineers that focuses on hardware innovations globally. She is also a member of the IMC agri and food processing committee.

Anastasia Volkova

CEO and co-founder – Regrow

Dr Anastasia Volkova is a TEDx Speaker, MIT 35 Under 35 Innovator, and Amelia Earhart Fellow. In late 2016 she founded FluroSat, an agritech company to offer next-generation decision support and monitoring systems for farmers and their advisors. FluroSat has gone through a transformational journey of commercializing agricultural science, attracting leading investors (Microsoft M12, AirTree, Space Angels), and scaling into the global market. In early 2021 FluroSat acquired soil health leading startup Dagan to form Regrow – a company with a broader mandate to help holistically rejuvenate the potential of agricultural soils and drive the transition to resilient agriculture globally.

Joel Woodward

Regional Representative – Southeast Asia –  USA Dry Pea & Lentil Council and U.S. Dry Bean Council

Joel Woodward and his colleagues at AgriSource Co. Ltd. represent the USA Dry Pea & Lentil Council and the U.S. Dry Bean Council in the Southeast Asia region—primarily the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, and Indonesia. AgriSource also assists the Councils with projects in Pakistan, Taiwan, and Japan. Joel holds a degree in Finance from Texas A&M University. He is based in Bangkok, Thailand.

Ryan Yang

CEO – TSI Accelerator

Ryan Yang was the CEO of Taiwan Startup Institute (TSI), a startup accelerator that spearheaded the commercialization and globalization of deep tech startups. During his tenure at TSI, the accelerator program had accepted more than 100 startups, of which raised more than US$ 100 million of funding. Ryan was also the chairman of Taipei Angels Investment which was founded in 2012 with 80+ angel investors.
Ryan worked for a Softbank Group-backed internet company during the dot-com era. Ryan was also with a Nasdaq-listed company, where he led the global online marketing efforts. He was the co-founder and president of a Silicon Valley e-tailer which was named among the US Top 500 Online Retailers.

John Wood is the Founder of Room to Read, a Board member of Green Monday, and the Asia Partner for Concentric Equity, a US$2 billion Chicago-based private equity firm.He also serves on the board of Asia Partners, a Singapore-based technology PE firm focused on the ASEAN region. He is an investor and advisor to abillion, an Advisory Board member of the XA Network, and an investor in TurtleTree Labs.
John first came to Asia for several executive positions with Microsoft, including Director of Marketing for Asia Pacific and Director of Business Development for Greater China. He is a Henry Crown Fellow at the Aspen Institute, a Young Global Leader of the World Economic Forum, a four-term Advisory Board member of the Clinton Global Initiative and was named by Bill and Melinda Gates as Microsoft’s first-ever Alumni of the Year.
John is the author of five books, including Leaving Microsoft to Change the World, which was featured on the Oprah Winfrey Show and was named by Amazon as one of the Top Ten Business Narratives of 2006.
